What is Consumer Credit Counseling Service?
The Consumer Credit Counseling Service is a non-profit community service organization which helps residents of the Mid-Ohio Valley who are experiencing financial difficulty. It is not a collection agency, nor is it a charity or lending institution. It does not provide funds for paying anyone's debts. As its name implies, it is primarily a counseling service.
Our Mission
To provide community service dedicated to delivering professional credit counseling, credit education and debt reduction programs, to promote fair and equal housing to all persons regardless of race or financial status.
Are CCCS services confidential?
Yes. It is the policy of the Board of Directors of CCCS that all information received from the client and the fact that the client is receiving counseling will be confidential between the client and CCCS except, of course, when a debt liquidation plan is deemed necessary and the client's creditors must be informed.
Who does Consumer Credit Counseling benefit?
FAMILIES...who receive help in preparing a sound financial management plan, setting up a repayment plan, avoiding bankruptcy, and learning the correct way to use credit.
CREDITORS...who accrue fewer losses and can continue to extend credit while keeping prices low for quality products.
EMPLOYERS...who know employees can receive help in times of financial hardship.
THE COMMUNITY...whose citizens facing layoffs or other financial problems have an alternative to bankruptcy through professional counselors who provide a variety of financial counseling services.
